Cool bar. Old firehouse vibe hence the name.
Decent Bloody Mary and prices are reasonable.
No longer allowed to climb the fireman pole, a guy broke both his knee caps -

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, quality food on the pricier side.
A date and I stopped by here as we were looking for a place for lunch. Sadly they only serve lunch until three, which is when we arrived so we ordered from the dinner menu, which to me had much less options for my taste ( I really wanted to try that catfish po' boy!)
We ended up ordering the Jack house spicy burger with jalapenos and "Hot lava" sauce, and I got the Southern Pulled Pork sandwich. They were both over $15- that is a tad pricey for any sandwich or burger (the burger was about $19). They both came with fries, which I thought was the redeeming quality of it all, as the fries were very tasty. The pulled pork however, was very lack luster- especially for as pricey as it was- it was mostly bread. My date seemed to enjoy his burger a lot- it was a thick piece of meat cooked to his liking "perfectly" as he stated.
They offer an extensive menu of drinks, all of which looked very tasty, but once again a tad on the pricier side. Before our food had arrived, a waiter came around with a sampling of tiny muffins - jalapeno and some other kind- with what seemed like a savory chutney and a cinnamon butter, and gave it to us compliments of the house! I will say, this was the best part of the meal - they were absolutely delicious!! I do not even know if they were on the menu, but if you see them, I 100% recommend!
Atmosphere was great as well, the interior was decorated so nicely, and it is in an old firehouse- how cool! There is a bar in the middle that was fairly busy on that Saturday, but it was still a nice and quiet environment! Very open air- with options for outdoor seating! The staff was all very nice , and quick service considering it was a busy day.
Overall, this is a great place to take a date if you want to splurge a little bit. The atmosphere is classy but cool, and the food is adequate. I certainly must recommend those tiny muffins!! -

Love the decor. Love the large bottles of water.
The fried green tomatoes were amazing!
The Po boy sandwich was fair. Way too much bread. Dry! My boys 10 and 13 didn't like the MAC and Cheese on the kids menu.
My wife got the Apple salad and enjoyed it. The desert was good but then it's rare that it isn't.
Right across the street from the Eastern Pennsylvania penitentiary and a Public parking lot. -

Came here in the middle of the day after a tour of the penitentiary across the street. Quick service, good drinks and great app.

This place has two great things going for it. Its location directly across the street from Eastern State Penitentiary so its an easy pre- or post-visit stop. It's also a super cool old fire hall and it has an amazing old crew boat hanging above the bar. However, the food and service was pretty mediocre. The burger looked fabulous that my niece got-- she's a 12-year old burger connoisseur and she liked It. But the cheesesteaks were pretty bad. I would not recommend them. And I'm not from Philly nor am I a cheesesteak connoisseur.... they just weren't good. Meat way too dry, roll too bulky and dry... peppers and onions not adequately grilled...
The service was also lacking. It was lunch, they were not busy and had tons of wait staff but we felt like they were debating who would come over and serve us as if we were disturbing them. And we had to ask for everything... extra napkins, extra ketchup, water refills.... and then wait.
And for what we got, it was not inexpensive. I know it's Philly but $90 (before tip) for 5 meals not in center city-- 4 of them the pictured cheesesteak and the 5th the burger plate (substitute burger for cheesesteak in pic). We only had water to drink....in part because ordering a soda gets you one of those tiny cokes in a glass bottle...
If it weren't for the location, I wouldn't recommend it at all.
